9000 Listeners on September 8, 2006

In one week we went from 8000 listeners on August 31 to over 9000 listeners on September 8, with a new daily average of 195 a day. This means that now we are increasing listeners at 1000 a week to bring us to at least 25,000 listeners going into January, 2007 16 weeks from now. If we only increase at 1000 listeners a week we will have at least 75,000 listeners by the beginning of 2007 which is a nice goal to have to get interest in a new book of mine which might come out by then.

What I cannot seem to figure out is the rate of acceleration. We started at zero 21 weeks ago. What is the rate of acceleration so that we can predict how high it is going to get?

We had 450 listeners after the first month and 950 after the second month. We had 2267 listeners after the third month. Thus we more than doubled our numbers for the third month.

In three and a half months we had 3695 total listeners and 100 listeners a day. 1428 listeners came in after two weeks more, around 1500, or 750 listeners a week. Six more weeks down the road and we now have 1000 listeners a week and 200 a day instead of 100 a day.

Are we then having around a 25% increase in listeners every week?

Thus 25% of 1000 current listeners a week would be 250 listeners added to 1000 then equals 1250 listeners next week, or the middle of September and 1500 the next week and 1750 after the one after. So by the end of September we will have 9000 listeners now added to with 1250 plus 1500 plus 1750 so that the total is: 13,500 listeners by the beginning of October. October will give us by the end 18,500. Isn’t math wonderful!

Let’s see what happens?
