Report Chart – Four Months

This chart shows some of our statistics for interpretation. Since we keep rising in numbers at an accelerated rate we cannot evaluate these numbers accurately. Maybe they are still interesting, and we shall draw some conclusions.

Report Chart - Four Months
This chart does not show all our 32 podcasts for the first four months but it does show the more recent podcasts for up to two months. Day 2 and Day 3 mean the two most recent days, not counting today. Totals are total listener audience for the last four months, which shows a total now just over 6000 audience.

Half the total audience, then, is sampled here.

-We note that The Tao Of Now is two months old but still getting a good average of 4-5 listeners a day.

-The taper-off rate seems to be two weeks. After two weeks our numbers are not swelled by an initial audience of new people or samplers. After two weeks the audience picks podcast talks, not because they are new, but because the subject interests them and they are serious listeners. We see this by the amount of listeners per day drops sharply but stays the same roughly even as more days pile up. Thus, the Tao of Now talk is still popular two months later.

-Thus if we average out the day-rate for Tao of Now we get around 4 listeners a day. This is respectable because when you multiply 30 days by 4 you get 120 listeners a month still, even with new podcasts coming in to listen to.

-If we had 100 listeners a podcast for all of the 32 podcasts current, that would be around 3200 a month. Some podcasts are more popular and some less so. Since the rate is accelerating as we become known we do not know what an average rate of listeners for podcasts older than two weeks will be.  100 listeners a month seems entirely possible.

-As we add around 10 new podcasts a month and the oldest 10 sort of die off (they are not shown here), we will be adding new listeners. We do not know if a good median rate will continue for podcasts older than two months. Say, the podcasts are getting better on subject and delivery, as Strephon learns his ropes, then we could see median downloads for a longer period, like three or four months.

-Any other conclusions?
