Today is the day we broke into the average of 100 a day. This in less that three and a half months. Our total so far since April 16, 2006 is 3695 total audience so far. This represents at least that many listeners to the thought of Strephon Kaplan-Williams, more people who have heard him than in several years of giving talks to the public and teaching. Of course when Strephon has been on radio or television he has reached more people, but these people are there for the program and not by choice. To download a talk of Strephon’s you have to make a choice to do so and then to listen.
The quality and sincerity in delivery of Strephon’s thought on life issues is what marks all his talks. He does not produce to entertain but to increase and broaden perspective about life. This is his forte, the quality and value of his thought.
For Eckhart Tolle, he tested his thought in giving workshops, groups and talks for a few years. Then he put his thought from interacting with his people into his book, The Power Of Now. This book worked, for people found his thought valuable and passed on his book to others. The result was that over two million copies were sold so far in just a few years.
The results for Strephon’s thought is unknown at this point. Strephon does not make life sound any more nice than it actually is. Strephon deals with the dark side of life as well as the quest for a meaningful life.
Strephon does not give easy formulas for living your life which trance the mind but are not true to reality. He does not say, like Eckhart Tolle, don’t believe the mind, while using the mind. Strephon says, use the mind fully for clarity and perspective, but live in action as well.
Strephon does not say, like Tolle, live only in the now. Living only in the now, says Strephon, is a mind game and not accurate to logic. You cannot live just now. You must also reflect upon your direct experience, and that of necessity takes you out of direct experience. Don’t live just from one narrow mind view, says Strephon.
This little diatribe against Eckhart Tolle is by way of contrasting Strephon’s thought to Tolle’s. There is comparison but no competition. Those who want to be truly conscious, and do the hard work to be so, might better explore Strephon’s thought. Those who want a pristine thinking like high poetry might better absorb Tolle’s thought. Strephon
likes Tolles thought. He just does not find much of it realistic enough
to live.
Thus in evaluating statistics here we are engaged in a kind of spiritual arena in which many styles of thought come into play. Statistics are a measure of the amount of people exploring perspective on living life. They show a measure of who is responding to your thought.
If you produce entertainment, or entertainment and perspective, then that is what you are and your statistics are about all those who want to be entertained and find your entertainment right for them.
If however you want serious stimulation of your thought processes then you also go to serious thinkers to understand better how to think, and what life is all about.
Stanford University is putting out hundreds of pod-cast recordings of its professor’s lectures. A quick comparison of these lectures and their content, and delivery by their professors will probably show you that while a university pays its people to amass information and present it, the university does not in itself develop quality speakers who are themselves living the thought they talk about.
You can tell from the delivery of a talk the quality of the person presenting that talk. It will not be just the content of what they say but also the sincerity and integrity of their delivery. You can usually tell of a speaker is passionately living what they deliver in perspective about life.
Cicero the ancient Roman writer was also a famous orator in his day. This means that it was not just what he said but the passion and commitment with which he also said it.
Thus we are happy to comment in the first day of our reaching 100 listeners a day on the Strephon Says podcasts.
And many thanks for your support in getting the information out to the right people. This is both a labor of love and of consciousness for those involved. You are part of the team even if we do not know you.
